What we’re playing at Massively Fun February 9th, 2012 If you’ve ever wondered how fun it is to work at a company called Massively Fun, we can tell you, the answer is in the question – Massively! We eat, sleep and breathe all things fun. So, our lives of course, mimic our work. Every Thursday night the MF gang gets together for game night. This weekly gathering brings out the kid in us all and is an opportunity to laugh, play, and engage in a bit of (friendly, albeit serious) competition! Doing this keeps our imaginations open to creating new games we think you’d love, too! So what have been playing? Here’s just a few of our recent favorites for you to explore. Bang! : A wild west themed card game with a sheriff, deputy, outlaws and renegades. Our favorite move involves playing the “Beer” card. Munchkin : From the wonderous mind of Steve Jackson , this card game allows you to “look for trouble”, “kick down doors”, fight monsters like the Shrieking Geek, and dole out curses like the Income Tax, all while using your helpful treasures (my favorite being the Bad-Ass Bandanna). Poo : No, not like the bear. You’re a monkey, you fling many types of poo. Cleanest monkey standing- wins! (Surprising amount of strategy involved here. Do you clean the poo off yourself, do you leave the poo on?…). Ticket to Ride : Collect various types of train cars and claim railway routes. Longer routes, equals more points. You can rack up extra points using Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect far off cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route. Ascension : is like Dominion , crossed with Magic the Gathering . Players start with 10 cards; eight Apprentices, two Militias and spend Runes to build more powerful decks. Use Hero, Construct and Power cards to defeat Monsters. Letters from Whitechapel : A crime and investigation game. The player who controls Jack the Ripper commits murders and tries to reach his hideout, while the detectives try to find and stop him. We’ve been trying to break Alex of his Barbie game obsession, but old habits die hard!
